Baˈbrujsk ˈMilitary Forˈmations and ˈUnits

For the liberation of Babrujsk (June 29, 1944) in the course of the Babrujsk offensive of 1944 during the Great Patriotic War, by the Order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of July 5, 1944, 20 units and formations of the 3rd, 48th, and 65th armies, the 16th Air Army and the Dniapro Military Flotilla of the 1st Belarusian Front were awarded with the Babrujsk honorary title.

Units and formations that were awarded the Babrujsk honorary title were the 9th Tank Corps (major general B. S. Bakharov); the 3rd Bomber (major general of Aviation A. Z. Karavatskij) and 8th Fighter (lieutenant general of Aviation A. S. Osipenko) Aviation corps; the 17th (lieutenant colonel A. P. Lukin), 108th (major general P. A. Teremov), 137th (major general F. N. Zhabrev), 250th (major general I. V. Mokhin), and 348th (major general N. A. Nikitin) Rifle divisions; the 8th Motorised Rifle Brigade (lieutenant colonel P. I. Trushkin); the 115th Independent Rifle Brigade (colonel A. N. Volkov); the 95th (colonel A. I. Kuznetsov) and 108th (lieutenant colonel V. N. Baraniuk) Tank brigades; the 1st Brigade of River Ships (captain of the 2nd rank S. M. Liaĺko); the 42nd Independent Tank Regiment (lieutenant colonel S. I. Tideman); the 922nd (lieutenant colonel A. V. Sokolov) and 1897th (lieutenant colonel M. F. Ryzhanov) Self-Propelled Artillery regiments; the 311th (colonel I. D. Merkulov) and 313th (lieutenant colonel D. N. Arlow) Guards Mortar regiments; the 66th Independent Signal Regiment (lieutenant colonel B. P. Zhukov); the 2nd Guards Armoured Motor Gunboat Artillery Battalion (captain of the 3rd rank A. I. Piaskow).

By the Order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief dd. June 29, 1944, a commendation was given to the troops which participated in the battles for the liberation of Babrujsk, and Moscow saw 20 artillery guns saluting with 224 salvoes.
