Kamiaˈniec
Town, centre of Kamianiec Rajon, Brest Voblasc, on the Liasnaja River. 38 km north of Brest, 340 km from Minsk, 28 km from the Zhabinka railway station (on the Brest — Baranavichy line); on the Brest — Kamianiuki highway.

In 1940, 4,500 inhabitants lived in Kamianiec.
On the morning of June 23, 1941, near Kamianiec (on the right flank of the oncoming tank battle that unfolded on the line Kamianiec — Zhabinka — Vialikija Radvanichy), the 30th Tank Division (colonel S.I. Bogdanov) pushed back the 17th and 18th German Tank divisions of the 2nd Tank Group under H. Guderian in a fierce battle.
Kamianiec was invaded on June 23, 1941. German Nazi troops killed 5,406 people in the urban settlement and area, and took 1,682 people to Germany. The Hitlerites built a ghetto in Kamianiec, where about 5,000 Jews were kept. In November 1942, the prisoners were taken to the ghetto in Vysokaje town, then to the Treblinka and Auschwitz death camps (both in Poland).
The Kamianiec Rajon Anti-Fascist Organisation, the Kamianiec Underground Rajon Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Belarus, and Kamianiec Underground Rajon Committee of the Leninist Young Communist League of Belarus, the “Savieckaja Bielarus” (Soviet Belarus) Partisan Brigade (Brest Voblasc) operated in the area.
Kamianiec was liberated on July 22, 1944, by the soldiers of the 50th (major general A.S. Vladychanskij) and 54th (major general M.M. Danilov) Guards Rifle divisions of the 3rd Guards Rifle Corps of the 28th Army of the 1 Belarusian Front in the course of the Lublin-Brest offensive of 1944.
In Kamianiec, there are:

grave of Guards Colonel P. Ja. Piwnienka with the monuments placed on the graves;
