Battle between the extermination battalion of Akciabrski Rajon, Paliessie Voblasc (on July 23, 1941, it was transformed into the Red October Partisan Detachment) together with the subunit of the Red Army (commander was lieutenant colonel L. V. Kurmyshov) and Nazi invaders in Voziemlia village, Akciabrski Rajon on July 18, 1941 in the Great Patriotic War.
The reconnaissance of the extermination battalion established the enemy’s strength and the exact location of its firepower. Armoured train No. 52 (lieutenant Kalakoĺtsaw), moving along the Babrujsk — Rabkor railway line, on July 18, 1941, approached Voziemlia unexpectedly for the Hitlerites and opened artillery fire on the headquarters of the German division and enemy firing points. After the artillery shelling, the Combined Detachment of the Red Army soldiers and fighters of the extermination battalion under the command of Rajon Party Committee instructor S. V. Makhańko attacked the enemy.
As a result of the battle, Voziemlia was liberated. The enemy lost about 80 soldiers and officers killed, prisoners and significant trophies were captured: 55 armoured and motor vehicles, 2 radio communication sets, 27 motorcycles, 45 horses with carts and cargo, operational documents of the German headquarters. The prisoners, documents and trophies were handed over to the command of Soviet troops.
