Kaˈlinkavichy ˈMilitary Forˈmations and ˈUnits

For the liberation of Kalinkavichy town (January 14, 1944) during the Kalinkavichy-Mazyr offensive of 1944, according to the Order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of January 15, 1944, 21 military formations and a military unit of the Belarusian Front received the Kalinkavichy honorary title.

Units and formations that were given the Kalinkavichy title, i.e. the 81st (colonel I. P. Khorykaw), 253rd (colonel A. Je. Filataw), 354th (colonel M. A. Krymski) and 356th (major general M. G. Makarov) Rifle divisions; the 5th Guards Mortar Division (lieutenant colonel G. M. Fantalov); the 5th Breakthrough Artillery Division (colonel A. I. Snegurov); the 1st Guards Motorised Rifle Brigade (colonel G. N. Filipov); the 68th Independent Tank Brigade (lieutenant colonel R. A. Tsimchanka); the 41st Independent Anti-Tank Fighter (colonel G. Ja. Kagan) and 44th Independent Cannon (colonel R. A. Ajrapetov) Artillery brigades; the 67th Guards Cannon (colonel A. I. Panamarenka), 237th Self-Propelled (major V. S. Kaśkow) and 206th Anti-Tank Fighter (lieutenant colonel S. A. Gierasimienka) Artillery regiments; the 57th (major K. F. Ivantsow) and 779th (lieutenant colonel A. V. Khramchenkov) Bomber and 517th Fighter (lieutenant colonel S. V. Baranov) Aviation regiments; the 3rd Guards Engineer Barrage Battalion (major R. I. Gasienka); the 86th Independent Assault Engineer-Sapper Battalion (major A. A. Kuznetsov); the 257th Independent Motorised Engineer Battalion (major I. A. Fadziejew); the 732nd Independent Anti-Tank Fighter Artillery Battalion (major V. S. Khamienka); the 821st Independent Rocket Artillery Battalion (major I. P. Kostornykh).

The troops which participated in the liberation of Kalinkavichy town were cited by the Order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief dated January 14, 1944, and Moscow saw 224 guns saluting with 20 artillery salvoes.
